Thursday Bird Photo: Song Sparrow

This week’s Thursday Bird Photo is a Song Sparrow (Latin: Melospiza melodia; français : Bruant chanteur). This is a representative of the Northwestern group, which tends to be darker and bigger than the subspecies found in the rest of North America. Although this picture was taken at Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC, Canada, during a January bird count, Song Sparrows reside all year in this part of the world.
