D50 Archives: Sandhill Crane

This week, I will feature a couple of photos of the beautiful Sandhill Crane (en français : Grue du Canada | scientific name: Grus canadensis), taken last spring at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Delta, BC. If you are a birder and have not been there yet, what are you waiting for? It is among the top birding places in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, which is saying quite a lot!

And although the composition of the following picture is not perfect (the head is turned a bit too far away from the viewer), I still like it because you can see through the bird’s nostril:
