Bald Eagles showing off at UBC Vancouver

The Bald Eagles have been quite obviously feeling a bit frisky in this part of the world in the past little while and I’ve been treated to quite a show this week at UBC’s Point Grey campus by our resident eagles.

Yesterday, for example, six eagles were showing off their impressive flying abilities and generally raising quite a ruckus. Here are just two of the shots I managed to get in less than an hour during my lunch break (in this case, an eagle is about to land on a tree top and is joined in the second shot by a colleague, probably its mate, who did not want to remain alone):
