Bewick’s Wren / Troglodyte de Bewick / Thryomanes bewickii: So this is one of those photos that is almost good, except for the twig that interest the bird’s tail/rump and that annoying out of focus leaf in the foreground to the right. Still, I like the bird’s pose and the level of detail of the feather and eye is good. Not to mention that these wrens are not really easy to capture, given how skittish they can be.
Photographed February 17, 2017, on the edge of Pacific Spirit Regional Park, not too far from UBC’s Museum of Anthropology. Taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED (ISO 400, 300mm, f/5.6, 1/1250). Not baited, called in or set up.
