Northern Flicker in Vancouver

Northern Flicker (Red-shafted) / Pic flamboyant (forme rosée) / Colaptes auratus cafer: I captured many shots of this bird and what I presume was his mate (since it looked like they were looking for a suitable hole to make their nest), but this is the nicest photo by far. In fact, I think this is my favourite flicker shot among the ones I have gotten over the years. Taken in Vancouver on 10th Avenue, on a tree in front of St. James Community Square. As is often the case for me, this bird happened to land right in front of me.

Taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED (ISO 1600, 300mm, f/5.6, 1/500). Not baited, called in or set up.
