As I’ve written previously (here and here), I spotted this lovely male Mountain Bluebird (Merlebleu azuré / Sialia currucoides) on Vancouver’s Locarno Beach on March 21. I saw it again a week later. As it ends up, this gentleman stuck around for about three weeks in total, and I got another occasion to see to photograph it (stay tuned… they may be the best yet!).
Both photos were taken March 27, with a handheld Nikon D5200 and AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED. Not baited, called in or set up.
