Male Anna’s Hummingbird: Once again, close, but no cigar!

ANHU_male-UBC-2015_02_18

Like yesterday’s photo of a Bewick’s Wren, this photo of a male Anna’s Hummingbird (Colibri d’Anna / Calypte anna) is not bad, but the small bit of twig intersecting its bill and the out of focus branch just under the bird are annoyances I could have mitigated by moving a bit to my left and down (but maybe there was a ledge or a brick wall in way, who knows?)

Photographed February 18, 2017, in the garden in front of UBC’s Cecile Green Park House and next to the Coach House. Taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED (ISO 400, 300mm, f/5.6, 1/1250). Not baited, called in or set up.
